Circular cycling route

A 38 mile cycle route tackling two classic road cycling climbs in the Lake District; Whinlatter and Honister Pass.

Along the way you’ll also cycle alongside the very popular Buttermere Lake – home to the excellent Skye Farm Tea Room if you’re in need of excellent cake (the white chocolate is delicious) after tackling Honister Pass.

With the Grasmoor mountain overlooking us, we then head north to the town of Cockermouth where at around midway the VeeVa! cafe is a great place to refuel should you need to.

For the last part of the ride we head west heading towards Bassenthwaite Lake and pass the famous Skiddaw mountain range to our left, before heading back to Keswick. Once here, if you’re looking for a post cycle caffeine fix, I can highly recommend the Java Coffee Shop who serve up excellent cake!
