Set beside the beautiful lake in Buttermere Valley (owned by the National Trust), you’ll find a surprisingly well stocked cafe with a vast selection of cakes and savoury food.
Buttermere can get extremely busy during the summer months but visit by bike to avoid the parking issues :). Enroute you could one of many great Lake District climbs including Honister Pass, stock up on cake and then tackle another on the way back.
The cake selection isn’t just your normal favourites, you’ll find some unusual choices including the very tasty white chocolate carrot cake.
