Open from midday to late and located on the edge of Bala, a historic market town in the Snowdonia National Park and set on the banks of it’s ever popular lake is a superb restaurant, cafe and bar serving up home cooked food and cakes alongside plenty of space for groups of all sizes.
The all-day lunchtime and evening menu has something for all appetites, light bites include flatbreads (we had the shredded lamb – pictured), salads, wraps and pretzel rolls; including a rather tasty emmental or pulled pork.
Larger meals include their famous burgers with their ‘HWB Burgers 2.0’ taking centre stage and boasting decadent flavour and ingredients over the normal offerings; do try the spicy cajun chicken burger (pictured). Additionally you’ll find an array of artisan hot dogs, dirty loaded fries and home cooked pub classics; spaghetti bolognese, beef or veggie chilli and chicken & spinach curry to name a few. All meat is sourced from local Bala based and award winning butchers T J Roberts & Son.
Outside is a large number of benched seating, all undercover, with plenty available inside the light and airy restaurant too; however at weekends bookings are essential. There’s bike racking directly outside the premises.
