With superb views from their garden overlooking the Blackdown Hills and rolling Somerset countryside, this hidden gem of a cafe, famed for it’s brilliant brunches, serves up fantastic seasonal food alongside homemade cakes and great coffee.
Breakfast and brunch is served until 11:45 weekdays or 14:30 at weekends and boasts (to name a few); toasted sourdough with a range of toppings (including herb tomatoes, sautéed garlic mushrooms and streaky bacon), baked egg with spiced chickpea & feta, Turkish-style eggs, bagels and chicken & black bean cheddar quesadilla. For those with a sweet tooth early in the morning, you’ll also find their popular banana, hazelnut & dark chocolate bread with coconut yogurt, homemade pancakes and toasted sourdough.
The lunchtime menu is equally as appetising; potato & feta pancakes, leek cannellini beans & Cumberland sausage, apple & celeriac soup, cherry tomato & cavolo nero linguine, toasted garlic focaccia with hummus and fried halloumi.
As for cakes you’ll find delights ranging from their moreish apple, almond & coconut cake to chocolate brownies, millionaire shortbread and chunky chocolate chip cookies.
Outside in their sheltered and meticulously maintained garden is plenty of seating and space for bikes where you truly feel in the midst of the Somerset countryside. There’s undercover seating too for those rainy rides.
The garden is ideal for groups of all sizes and inside you’ll find limited seating too. Booking is available for both areas and certainly recommended at weekends.
Do note, Monday & Tuesday is coffee and (excellent) cake only 🙂
