Situated along the popular Monsal Trail, a former railway line that ran between Manchester, Buxton and Matlock to London is a bustling cafe providing hungry walkers, cyclists and horse-riders with much needed coffee and delicious food inside the former Millers Dale station – complete with original platforms.
The cafe has both a takeaway service and limited indoor seating inside their railway themed cafe, providing a selection of hot homemade dishes including their famous ‘posh’ hot dogs (Lincolnshire sausage), paninis, jacket potatoes, soups and salads in addition to freshly made cakes, cream teas, ground coffees and loose leaf local teas.
There’s plenty of choice both sweet and savoury, breakfast and lunch on their extensive food menu, including a dedicated ‘dietary options’ menu featuring tasty gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan options.
Whilst visiting be sure to checkout their vintage railway posters inside the cafe, a hark back to the history of Millers Dale station and the line that once dominated the surrounding area. Once refuelled why not continue along the Monstal Trail and take a 6 mile cycle ride to Bakewell via Monsal Dale and it’s famous 1862 viaduct, where at the viewpoint you’re rewarded with panoramic views across the Wye valley.
