Friendly, affordable and family-run tea room just a short walk from the Skirrid National Trust car park and set on the quiet B4521 (Old Ross Road, now largely traffic-free) between Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye.
With a large, heated outdoor seating area overlooking the Skirrid mountain, alongside plenty of indoor seating to boot and all your cafe staples, it’s the ideal pitstop when cycling around the breathtaking roads of Monmouthshire and beyond.
On the menu you’ll find all your usual cafe staples, for those early risers there’s their famous all day breakfasts, plenty of ‘on toast’ options, omlettes, toast and much more. The lunch menu is equally is varied and includes baguettes, paninis, toasties, jacket potatoes, soups, salads and larger plated meals too (curry, chill etc).
For those with a sweet tooth the cakes are all homemade and on our March visit included a chocolate orange, carrot and double chocolate. Alongside were freshly baked doughnuts and fruit/plain scones too.
For those staying in the area for a few days or more, it may be worth checking out the cafe’s luxury shepherd hut accommodation, complete with hot tub!
