The Chakra Lounge brings together the best of Indo-Western cuisine with an awesome selection of authentic Indian meals, breakfasts and snacks, alongside delicious homemade cakes, excellent coffee and a meticulously decorated interior. What’s more the majority of their food and cakes are vegan friendly too.

During our visit we had a slice of their delicious apple, cinnamon and raisin cake, alongside a very moreish chocolate s’more doughnut (AKA toasted marshmellow) and cappuccino.

Although perhaps not suited to those cycling, the main event here is their savoury, Indo-Western cuisine including their take on breakfast (‘If Indian’s did it’) featuring cumin sweet potatoes, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and masala beans or their ‘Bollywood Benedict bowl’ complete with poached egg and tikka hollandaise sauce.

For lunch there’s nachos with a spicy twist, delicious noodles and Bhel Puri, a dish made of puffed rice alongside veg and tamarind sauce, just to name a few!

Do check out our nearby circular cycling routes below if looking for route ideas. Buxton is also the start of the hugely popular Monsal Trail, a 8.5 mile traffic-free route along the former Midland Railway line suitable for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users, currently finishing in the scenic town of Bakewell – be sure to sample a Bakewell pudding whilst you’re there!
