A hip, quirky cafe found in the small Cotswold wool town of Nailsworth and famed for their varied and brilliant breakfast and brunches, lunch specials, homemade cakes and great coffee.
Brunch delights on our visit included a pain perdu (pan fried eggy bread with greek yogurt, fruit, almonds & maple syrup – pictured), chorizo sourdough (with poached eggs, courgette, sweetcorn & spinach), smashed avocado, Welsh rarebit with fried egg and their big veggie & English breakfasts.
For lunch (served all-day) there’s a superb selection of bagels (the smoked salmon & cream cheese or New York deli are fantastic), sandwiches, flatbreads, quiches and frittatas (try the feta & leek) from their deli counter.
Additionally these are coupled with delicious daily specials from their blackboard including mushroom stroganoff (vegan friendly), sweet potato, miso & ginger soup with sourdough and Turkish flatbread with harissa, olives, cucumber & poached egg (pictured).
As for that sugar fix there’s simply too many cakes here to list… brownies, tiffin, pastries, flapjacks, cakes, tray-bakes, scones, pastel de nata and cheesecakes to name a few. Just some of our favourites include their white chocolate & raspberry brownie, orange/almond & blueberry cake, Biscoff cheesecake and almond croissant. Coffee is supplied by Easy Jose, of Shepton Mallet nearby to Bristol.
Although very busy at weekends the table turnover is quick and outside in their enclosed courtyard you’ll find plenty of seating alongside room for your bikes. Larger groups may wish to ring ahead to avoid disappointment.
