Situated on the bank of Coniston Water and overlooked by the extremely popular walk of Coniston Old Man (at 802m) is a fantastic cafe boasting magnificent lakeside and mountain views, alongside delicious breakfasts, lunches and homemade cakes.

Situated on the shore of the lake is ample heated terraced seating for groups of all sizes, in addition to a large number inside too. There’s bike racking located directly outside and with a range of savoury snacks, ice creams, homemade cake or larger meals you’ll find something for everyone.

For early risers there’s a full or small veggie and English breakfast alongside varying breakfast baps, a Cumbrian rarebit and toasted teacake. Other hot goodies include a posh fish finger butty (pictured), grilled chicken stack, falafel burger and range of sandwiches, soups or toasties with crisps & salad.

Those with a sweet tooth are in for a treat; banana & walnut, apple & sultana, lemon drizzle, carrot, chocolate brownie, date & oat slice, Bakewell tart and Victoria sponge to name a few. For something even richer do try the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream or warm chocolate brownie.
