Within the beautiful Peak District National Park and located beside Edale train station, in the shadows of the popular Mam Tor hill and within the Edale Valley is an extremely popular cafe serving up delicious breakfasts, lunches and cakes to hungry walkers and cyclists alike.

Both inside and out there’s plenty of seating for cycling groups of all sizes and there’s plenty of secure bike racking too. For those early riders there’s a full English/veggie, alongside breakfast baps with all the fillings, beans on toast and of course toast and jam too. Coffee is sourced locally from Roastology in nearby Sheffield.

For lunch there’s a great range of filled sandwiches and paninis including bacon, brie & cranberry, BLT, smoked cheddar & ham and tuna mayo. Toasted teacake fans won’t be disappointed either!

As for something sweet there’s a delicious selection of homemade cakes and tray-bakes including their rather different blackcurrant scones, caramel Oreo brownies (pictured and delicious), fruit cake, date & banana oat slice, cherry Bakewell and carrot cake to name a few. ED: Our pictures were taken after a very busy day at the cafe :).

Once refuelled it’s just a short cycle before the ascent up the side of Mam Tor where you may wish to descent into the villages of Castleton or Hope, or alternatively head south-west onto the High Peak spa town of Buxton.
