Known as the ‘Gateway to Wales’, Abergavenny is a thriving and hip market town set on banks of the River Usk nearby to the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Park with quiet, scenic cycling routes aplenty. Little Green Refills is more than just a coffee house too, they’re a sustainable, ethical and low-waste store acting very much as a hub in the town and promoting local events too.
Their vegetarian and veggie focused menu is vast and offers a selection different from your norm, including sourdough from Angel Bakery! The plant based breakfast bun patty features optional fried egg, cheddar (VG available) in toasted pretzel bun with relish, alongside a filling veggie breakfast, eggs on sourdough and homemade granola bowl. Additional brunch bites include garlic mushroom on sourdough toast, sourdough toasties and for smaller appetites salad bowl, a sweet or savoury sourdough toast option or poppyseed bagels.
As for sweet treats you’ll be amazed by their chocolate, orange & almond domed cake alongside a moist carrot, double chocolate or sticky toffee cake, Angel bakery croissants or pan au chocolats and a gooey vegan chocolate brownie or banana loaf.
Bijou in nature, the cafe is ideally suited for small to medium sized groups with advanced notice most welcome. Alternatively why not get a coffee and cake to takeaway and stock up on pick-n-mix from their superbly stocked refill shop whilst you’re there?
