A bustling cafe with daily brunch and lunch specials, homemade cakes and smooth flavoursome coffee (from Coaltown Coffee Roasters) set within a fabulously decorated industrial themed interior found in the beautiful Welsh town of Caerleon, nearby to the city of Newport.
Their food menu changes by the day! On our last visit delights included a smashed avocado with sourdough, Mediterranean quiche, fluffy buttermilk pancakes and generously filled range of salad bowls. You’ll always find their popular sourdough sandwiches too with a tempting choice of fillings including; salt beef (pictured), brie & bacon (pictured), triple grilled cheese, a BLT bagel and vegan special. For those early risers there’s also a big bacon butty sourdough sandwich with your choice of sauce and toasted teacakes too.
Did we mention their cakes? Take a deep breath… Brownies (salted caramel, cornflake, raspberry & white chocolate or double chocolate), blondies (Biscoff, white chocolate or mini egg), banana & walnut bread, lemon drizzle cake, yogurt flapjack, muffins (iced lemon drizzle or double chocolate),Victoria sponge, coffee & walnut or brookies (a cross between a cookie and brownie, filled with icing). Lovers of Welsh cakes will of course find these here too!
There’s no bike racking with the nearest at the car park to the left at the Olde Bull Inn, however there’s a small number of tables out front should you wish to pitch them there (or ask the owner nicely if you can bring them in as we did). Inside there’s a good number of tables for small to medium sized groups to refuel whilst exploring south Wales.
