Coffi Labs’ first coffee shop of a growing collection, based in the market town of Monmouth on the banks of the River Wye. Their ethos as the name suggests is inspired by their love of coffee and labradors, however the great news is they’re also extremely cycle friendly too.
It’s all about the sweet treats here with so many delights to deliberate over, during our last visit through the winter months we were spoilt for choice with winter specials… Giddy figgy cake, Bakewell, mulled apple crumble cake and winter spiced fruit loaf (which we can highly recommend!) to name a few. Other treats include their famous Welsh cakes, pastel de nata (a Portuguese egg custard tart pastry), sticky cinnamon buns (a local favourite), blueberry or banoffee muffins, ultimate brownies, dark & fruity flapjacks and billionaire shortbread.
As for savoury you’ll find freshly made toasties, sandwiches, wraps and soup, alongside freshly baked sourdough & jam and the cyclist staple of toasted tea cake with butter & jam.
To ensure the best coffee around, Coffi Lab have teamed up directly with Finca Buena Vista in El Salvador, providing a coffee with a distinct sweetness and fantastic cup every time – we can certainly testify that.
Inside the modern and light interior, there’s plenty of space for larger cycling groups with additional seating out in their outdoor courtyard. Public bike racking is available out on the High Street, directly opposite the cafe on the other side of the road.
