A traditional Victorian tearoom located in the picturesque coastal village of Porlock, a hidden gem off the Somerset coast, serving up a huge selection of homemade sweet and savoury goodies.
Step inside the quaint cafe and you’re greeted with a plethora of cakes, biscuits, sweet treats and of course their world famous homemade crumpets which include a chocolate chip, fruit, cheese and original flavour and can even be ordered straight to your door!
For those with a sweet tooth like us their daily changing selection of homemade cakes include a delicious spiced apple, chocolate fudge, coffee & walnut, Victoria sponge, carrot & orange or banana & honey. As for biscuits and cupcakes you’ll find lemon, a winter spiced and a decadent rich chocolate fudge served alongside their freshly baked Eccles cakes and of course their superb crumpets – you must try the chocolate ones!
As for savoury options there’s a great selected of freshly made toasties, sandwiches and jacket potatoes, alongside their very own pasties (including a tasty steak & ale or creamy vegetable), soup, cottage pie and toasted teacakes.
Although seating inside is limited for larger groups, groups are most welcome to book ahead and there’s plenty of space out in their rear garden to store your bikes whilst you get your sugar and caffeine fix.
Once refuelled you’re just a stones throw away from quiet, scenic, country roads offering fantastic coastal views. What’s more we’re just a short cycle away from the popular Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its large area of heathland and oak woodlands to explore.
