location

An ideal stopping point when cycling around Bredon Hill, Elmley Castle is located between the Georgian town of Pershore and villages of Great Comberton and Beckford. Located within the Queen Elizabeth Inn pub at the foot of Bredon Hill and in the village of Elmley Castle is a quintessential English tearoom with a sweet twist…

Inside the black and white oak beamed building you’ll find a superb selection of homemade cakes, brownies, flapjacks, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes and a traditional cream tea. There’s also decadent themed cupcakes which include Minecraft, TikTok, Minion, Snow White and Peppa Pig, alongside a Milkybar, strawberries & cream, mint chocolate and lemon meringue to name a few!

During our last circular cycle ride around Bredon Hill we popped by for a quick coffee and iced red velvet cake which was delicious, homemade too! Other cakes included a mysterious ‘indulgence cake’ with everything you’d want in a sponge, a carrot and Bakewell tart.

The rear, sheltered terraced garden can be accessed from the left side of the pub and has plenty of seating and room for bikes. Inside the 16th century and listed building there’s also a number of tables for those cooler rides around the popular roads beneath Bredon Hill.

If looking for route suggestions do give one of our very own circular cycling routes taking in Bredon Hill, the Malvern Hills or nearby Cotswolds a try.
