Situated in the bustling Staffordshire village of Barton-under-Needwood is a quirky, family run cafe boasting a huge selection of homemade cakes and tray-bakes alongside delicious breakfast and lunch options, great coffee and their famous milkshakes.
With plenty of in and outdoor seating, including an outdoor terrace with dedicated bike racking which can be accessed from the rear of the cafe, it’s an ideal pitstop for larger cycling groups.
All their homemade cakes and sweet treats are proudly on display near to the counter and there’s plenty of them to choose from! Flavours include a terrific chocolate Biscoff drip cake slice, mocha (vegan), carrot, lemon & elderflower, chocolate orange and lemon & ginger (gluten and dairy free). As for tray-bakes, goodies include Malteser and vegan flapjacks, chocolate orange brownies and millionaire shortbreads.
Daily specials during our Autumn visit included a smoked salmon & cream cheese bagel, roasted red pepper & tomato quiche and warm cous-cous salad. We cannot also forget to mention their milkshakes which include Kinder, Crunchie and cookie dough. For those arriving early, breakfast includes bacon and sausage baps or baguettes, eggs Benedict, full English/veggie/vegan breakfasts, savoury cheese croissants, porridge oats and of course the cyclist staple, toasted teacakes with jam.
If lunch is calling there’s a tasty selection of homemade sandwiches, ciabattas and jacket potatoes alongside a delicious black bean Jambalaya and mushroom Stroganoff. You’ll also find freshly made soup and salads with a separate children’s menu too if travelling with family.
The cafe also does an excellent afternoon tea for those looking for a large refuel and is open
Friday and Saturday evenings (6.30pm-10.30pm) for drinks from their bar.
