Nestled in the quaint honey lined Cotswold village of Milton-under-Wychwood, just four miles from Burford and seven south of Chipping Norton is a superb artisan bakery and patisserie serving up daily all-day brunch and lunch specials boasting their famous sourdough, superb homemade cakes and great tasting coffee.

Brunch is served until 3pm and on our our visit the special was a Spanish affair featuring fresh tomato toast, Cacklebean sunny boiled egg (from nearby Stow-on-the-Wold) & prosciutto. This could be found alongside their breakfast menu which heavily features as you’d expect their tasty sourdough; filled breakfast baps, eggs & soldiers, yogurt granola bowl, smashed avocado (pictured) and smoked salmon on rye.

Alongside the all-day breakfast items you’ll find a tasty selection of sourdough toasties, soup of the day (lemony chicken minestrone), herby pork sausage rolls and quiche of the day. Coffee comes curtesy of Missing Bean Coffee in Witney, ten miles away.

For those with a sweet tooth their homemade salted caramel & raspberry doughnuts are hard to resist, alongside a very moist coffee & walnut cake, protein bites, rich brownie, shortbread, chocolate chip cookies and ginger flapjack. A patisserie as well as a bakery, there’s also a selection of pastries to; pastel du nato (pictured), cinnamon buns, pain au raisin, pain au chocolat and butter croissants.

Inside there’s a large function room (pictured) ideal for cycling groups, simply ring ahead to reserve your spot. Additionally there’s a good number of seats inside the bakery and cafe, alongside seating outside surrounding the honey bricked Cotswold cafe. The owner did mention dedicated bike racking is coming soon.

For those passing late on a Friday, be sure to checkout their pop-up sourdough pizza night takeaway service, served from 17:00 – 20:30 and available from £13.00 – visit their Facebook page for the latest dates and choices.
