Situated a stones throw from the bustling Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton you’ll find the famed Diddly Squat farm shop and their ‘big view’ cafe which certainly lives up to it’s name, offering breathtaking views across owner Jeremy Clarkson’s farm whilst you nibble at one of their delicious (and affordable) breakfast baps or seasonal specials.
Located beside the popular farm shop, which often has large queues for merchandise following the success of the popular Amazon Prime show, you’ll find a superb undercover and outdoor seating area for their popup Big View cafe.
The menu features heavily Jeremy’s own produce including Hook Norton smoked bacon, sausage or Cacklebean fried egg brioche rolls (pictured) and his own bee juice which can be found in their filling breakfast pots.
From 11:30 there’s also a fantastic lunch selection which on our autumnal visit included the ‘big view’ burger with cheddar, burger sauce & Hawkstone (their own) caramelised onions and a mushroom & Cotswold fishcombe cheese burger. Special of the day was a tempting Ploughman’s with local pork pie, bee juice, glazed ham, single Gloucester cheese & Diddly Squat real ale chutney with chunky bread, picked onions & celery. There’s twice cooked chips, truffle fries and their own burger relish to boot too.
With plenty of seating, quick turnaround and reasonably priced filter coffee or breakfast tea also on hand it’s the ideal pitstop when exploring nearby Chipping Norton, Kingham, Bourton-on-the-Water and beyond.
