Located off the busy A376 trunk road nearby to the hip city of Exeter is a hugely successful and award winning (2018) farm shop, cafe, deli and emporium serving up brunch, lunch, cakes and coffees to locals and tourists alike much of which using their own produce.
Eager two wheeled arrivals will find daily breakfast specials including a smashed avo, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs and a hearty farmers breakfast (served with two of everything) with veggie and vegan options to boot. Additionally there’s granola, porridge or oats (served using their own honey), bacon or sausage sandwiches, omelettes, eggs Benedict, Florentine or Royale and traditional thick cut toast too.
For lunch there’s a huge selection of ‘gourmet’ and traditional toasties and sandwiches including our favourite flavour, Sharpham brie & black grape alongside paninis, soups, pates, salads and platters… for food to go there’s also a large deli counter situated beside the cafe too. If not arriving on two wheels or you’ve a larger appetite there’s a selection of larger meals too; Darts Farm sausages & mash, club sandwich, lasagne, shepherds pie and steak sandwich to name a few.
Those with a sweet tooth are in for a treat! There’s simply too many to list here (but here goes)… cakes include Victoria sponge, coffee & walnut, carrot, lemon drizzle, orange & elderflower, Bakewell tart or pear & butterscotch. Tray-bakes; mango & coconut flapjack, cranberry & shortbread tiffin, raspberry & almond frangipane, honeycomb rocky road, millionaire shortbread or chocolate brownie.
Alongside great freshly ground coffee there’s also a large selection of warm deserts too; cheery, apple or banoffee pie, treacle tart, chocolate fudge cake and cheesecake. Did we mention a Devonshire cream tea too?
Inside are a large number of quickly turned around seating in addition to a sheltered and undercover seating area directly outside the indoor cafe. There’s dedicated cycle racking and for those arriving by electric car you’ll find plenty of charging points, complete with Tesla Superchargers too!
Out front is a handy ‘to-go’ shack offering a limited brunch and lunch menu for those who don’t wish to step inside the farm shop and just need a quick bite to eat.
