A family run, gluten free cafe based in the bustling town of Barnstaple, boasting a superb selection of decadent homemade cakes and freshly prepared breakfast and lunch options which are refreshingly different from your usual cafe menu.

Lunch features toasted focaccia sandwiches or filled omelettes with a range of fillings, jacket potatoes and salad bowls, with both salads vegan friendly, as is most of the menu. As for those early riders, breakfast includes a full English or veggie breakfast, alongside toasted focaccia with a range of toppings (including egg, vegan cheese and tofu) and of course the cyclist favourite, toasted teacake!

For those with a sweet tooth their homemade cakes change by the day but on our most recent trip included a triple layered vanilla caramel & coffee cake, decadent rainbow cake, Brazil nut brownie, Snicker bar, Bakewell slice and temping glazed ring donut.

There’s plenty of seating inside for small to medium sized groups, however as it’s a popular spot at the weekend we’d advise ringing ahead or getting their early if you wish to sit inside. Alternatively takeaway and enjoy your coffee and cake along the Tarka Trail passing through the town.
