As you’d expect from the name the cakes here are the main event, decadent and all homemade flavours include raspberry blonde, Oreo cookie loaf, double chocolate & lemon swiss roll, banana & walnut loaf, double chocolate muffins and ginger & cinnamon flapjack to name a few.
Breakfast (served from 9:30 until 12:30) includes buttermilk pancakes, French toast, crepes and porridge with a wide range of toppings and fillings.
For lunch there’s a selection of salads (Greek, tuna, avocado), ciabattas (falafel, ham & cheese, salami), bruschettas (feta, Greek tzatziki, aubergine), smashed avocado on toast, empandas and their popular ‘egg pocket’ crepe.
The filling afternoon tea is extremely popular and at £22 includes tea or coffee, 2 plain scones with clotted cream & preserves, a selection of sandwiches (tuna/salmon, cucumber & feta, ham & cheese, hummus & chilli) and of course their famously moreish cakes.
Upstairs is a good number of tables and for visitors with children there’s an excellent kids play area, where with a £5 minimum spend you’re able to relax whilst your children keep themselves entertained.
