A recently opened and popular purpose built cafe overlooking the South Stratford canal, both nearby to the scenic Warwickshire village of Wootton Wawen and just a stones throw from England’s longest aqueduct, the Edstone Aqueduct.
It’s not a surprise as to how the cafe was named, boasting spectacular views over Warwickshire and Worcestershire, with panoramic views across to the popular Bredon Hill circular cycling route (do try our view own), the Vale of Evesham, famous as the fruit basket of the UK and towering Malvern Hills in the distance.
Both inside and out there’s a huge amount of seating, making it ideal for cycling groups of all sizes. Inside is bookable but you’ll always find a space, especially on those early Sunday morning rides.
Early risers will find a large selection of goodies including their ‘ultimate breakfast’ alongside veggie / vegan / lighter options, smashed avo and poached eggs on toast, eggs Royale / Florentine / Benedict, granola and their famous American pancakes.
As for lunch there’s a equally vast offering with delights ranging from halloumi, falafel or southern fried chicken wraps, paninis, fish finger sandwiches, jackets potatoes and burgers. There’s also a range of full main meals including bangers & mash, ham & brie ploughman’s and fish n’ chips.
For those with a sweet tooth there’s a small selection of cakes on offer which during our latest visit included a lemon or Victoria sponge cake, alongside pain au chocolate or vegan croissants. Additionally there’s a tasty selection of warm puddings from the menu; Belgium chocolate waffle, sticky toffee pudding and banoffee roulade to name a few.
The coffee is freshly ground and for those with allergies or dietary requirements their menu is very thorough with clear labelling throughout. There’s also a great selection of vegan and veggie options both on their breakfast and lunch menus too.
