Fantastic coffee from Beanworks!

taste

Bagels and doughnuts don't get better than this - the caramel digestive filled doughnut is a must try as are their cookie sandwiches

selection

Awesome selection bagels baked on the premises, including a superb breakfast range. Served alongside their freshly made glazed and filled doughnuts, pastries, cakes, cookies, sides and more

value

Cappuccino (from £2.80), tea (from £2.20), bagels (from £6.50), doughnuts (from £2.50), tasty sides and fries (from £2.85)

storage

There's plenty of space out front for bikes however there's currently no secure racking (although you can see from the inside). If the bakery isn't during peak times they don't mind bikes inside so long as they're not muddy

groups

Plenty of seating inside for larger groups, with tables turning over quickly, there's also a limited number of seating outdoors in the carpark too

location

Aside from it's myriad of dual carriageways and flyovers, Redditch is nearby to some fantastic rides along quiet scenic roads to explore Worcestershire and beyond. If looking for ideas why not head in the direction of Feckenham, Hanbury and Himbleton towards Droitwich Spa? Alternatively head south to the market town of Alcester or Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon

On a rather ominous industrial estate in Redditch is the HQ of the Steamhouse Bakery, a mecca for bagel, doughnut and cake lovers in Worcestershire, the West Midlands, Birmingham and beyond. The home to all their delicious creations, inside you’ll find a jaw-dropping selection of sweet and savoury goods and their team of busy bakers working behind the scenes.

Inside the light and hip bakery there’s a superb range of breakfast and lunch bagels, decadent doughnuts, cookies (cookie sandwiches!), tray-bakes and fantastic coffee with plenty of seating for larger groups – although weekends do tend to get busier after 11am.

Breakfast bagels include the ‘goood morning’, served with smoked salmon, avocado, red onion & cream cheese and ‘the wake up call’ featuring smoked bacon, scrambled eggs, mozzarella & chipotle mayo. Yum!

There’s also a great range of classic, guest and hot deli meat bagels including the ‘salt beef chief’, hot salt beef with melted swiss, tubby toms maple mustard seasoning, pickles & ketchup. Other favourites include ‘the CBA’ with oat smoked chicken, smoked bacon, avo, and honey mustard dressing or ‘the un-brie-leavable’ with as you guessed, brie, red onion chutney & maple candied walnuts.

As for sweet treats there’s the freshest glazed, filled & topped doughnuts, alongside cookie sandwiches, flapjacks, tray-bakes, cinnamon rolls and pastries. Doughnut flavours include Biscoff, caramel digestive, Kinder Bueno, banoffee and of course your staple raspberry and custard. Other delights include their very moreish cookie sandwiches – Milkybar, Snickers and Biscoff, alongside varying rocky roads, brownies, cookies and vanilla plait pastries. Take a look at our pictures for more inspiration!

Last but not least you’ll find great coffee here too! During our last visit we went for the most delicious filled caramel digestive & Kinder Bueno doughnut, alongside a Milkybar cookie sandwich and silky smooth cappuccino… Just what we needed for a Sunday morning ride, it’s never too early for that sugar fix!

Let us know which you go for, sweet or savoury. The Steamhouse are currently baking more than 6,000 bagels and 2,000 doughnuts a week and we can certainly see why!
