Set on the western bank of the estuary of the River Dart you’ll find the tourist town of Dartmouth. With a myriad of cafes to choose from, we headed to the Sloping Deck Bakery with its mesmerising window of cakes on display.
Here you’ll find all the usual favourites (brownies, bakewell tart, yogurt flapjack) along with some great pastry and cake alternatives too (lemon and ginger / chocolate tart, caramel brownie, nutty finger, apple turnover to name a few).
In addition to their sweet treats you’ll also find a range of hot food on offer in what is a strange mix of bakery / fish and chip shop – however don’t let this put you off, the cakes live up to their looks!
