Set on the western bank of the estuary of the River Dart you’ll find the touristy town of Dartmouth. With a myriad of cafes to choose from, we headed to the Sloping Deck Bakery with its mesmerising window of cakes & bakes on display.

Inside you’ll find all the usual cake favourites (brownies, Bakewell tart, yogurt flapjack) along with some great pastry and cake alternatives too; lemon and ginger / chocolate tart, caramel brownie, nutty finger, apple turnover to name a few.

In addition to their sweet treats you’ll also find a range of hot food on offer in what is a strange mix of bakery / fish and chip shop – however don’t let this put you off, the cakes live up to their looks and it offers good value too!
