A favourite destination amongst local cycling clubs visiting the North Cotswolds, this popular cafe is the hub of the village where resting outside you’ll find an assortment of bikers, hikers, dog-walkers and horse-riders alike. Whether just stopping by for a coffee and breakfast bap, a slice of homemade cake or after a fantastic lunch you’re in for a warm welcome and scenic surroundings.
With a new chef and menu for 2024, daily specials on our visit included a delicious Mexican style eggs with smoked salsa & feta, chorizo butterbean & cheesy greens or soup of the day. Additionally there’s always their breakfast baps, full ploughman’s breakfast, famous hot wok fried eggs and range of ‘on toast’ or sourdough options.
Savoury snacks on the counter featured a choice of savoury croissants; mushroom & fennel or gammon, brie & marmelade There’s also a selection of flatbreads (tomato & mozzarella), turnovers (feta & spinach) or sausage rolls and pie.
Cakes on our visit featured a carrot, orange & polenta or Bakewell slice, alongside rocky road, Biscoff flapjack, granola bar or almond brownie.
There’s limited seating available inside the quaint and cosy interior of the Cotswold stoned building, on busier days why not takeaway and enjoy your delights on the village green or on the seating out front.
