Witley Court was once an Italianate mansion and one of England’s greatest country houses, now largely in ruins but thanks to English Heritage, still boasts it’s magnificant grounds and famous water fountain.

Just a stones throw away from the house and situated next to perhaps Britain’s finest Baroque church, you’ll find the Garden Tea Rooms.

As you’d expect for those visiting a country house, there’s plenty of cake to be found along with freshly baked scones a changing savoury menu and for those with a larger appetite, a fabulous afternoon tea.

As for space, there’s plenty of indoor seating along with a large outdoor garden overlooking the spectacular grounds of Witley Court.

Once refuelled be sure to tackle some of the ascents nearby including the famous and hilly Wyniattes Way – take a look at our route which tackles this climb.
