Popular, Mediterranean inspired cafe & coffee house in the hip, bustling suburb of Bournville, Birmingham serving up locally roasted coffee and all-day brunch and lunch delights.
Their Mediterranean inspired dishes (do check-out the menu) make a welcome change from your usual cafe staples on on our visit included a Tsoureki brioche toast (brioche, rose-water chantilly, mascarpone yogurt, cinnamon & pistachio), Greek egs with feta & romesco, their big ‘Kafenion grill’ (which includes pork & leek sausages or halloumi), shakshuka or Souvlaki wrap. There’s all your favourites too; a range of ‘on sourdough’ options, breakfast buns, granola bowls, salads and puff pastry pies.
For those with a sweet tooth the cakes are sourced locally from Brutally Honest Bakery (Big Fat Slab) in Birmingham; gingerbread latte, tangy lemon, raspberry & almond, chocolate brownie and Victoria sponge to name a few.
With space out front and their sheltered rear garden where bikes can be stowed, it’s ideal for groups of all sizes. Inside is a good number of tables too although it does get busy at the weekend.
