Birmingham’s first bicycle café and one extremely well known to cyclists within the West Midlands and beyond! Here you’ll find delicious coffee, stupendous all-day brunches, excellent light-bites, mouth watering cakes and for those wanting a little more, excellent beers too! If that wasn’t enough they also have their own fully equipped workshop and cycle store on-site too.
Greeted by an extremely friendly team you know the minute you step in the door you’re in good company, alongside the meticulously decorated themed cycling decor.
Open 7 days a week, you’ll always be sure find like-minded cyclists to catch up over a coffee and one of their famed fritters, brioche breakfast baps or red velvet cakes! If dough is your thing, they’re even open on Thursday and Friday evenings (check their Facebook page) for street food pizza too.
Serving up delicious brunch food all-day, goodies include a courgette fritter stack (pictured), pulled pork Benedict, winter spiced apple & pear pancakes, a full ‘Gorilla’ / veggie breakfast, harissa spiced scrambled eggs, choice of ‘eggs on’ sourdough and their popular brioche baps, available in bacon & sauté spinach, breaded halloumi & grilled courgette or pulled pork & fried egg.
The homemade cakes are equally appealing, during our most recent visit they featured their famous red velvet cupcakes, Jammie Dodger blondies and salted caramel or double chocolate brownies.
We visited just at the finish of their Tour de Gorilla event, a six stage solo tour of Birmingham and beyond, raising money for a great cause. Also if visiting during a major cycling event these are always broadcast too; we stopped by just as the Tour de France was heading underway.
