Pursuing her dream in 2019, Ella opened up a superb, welcoming cafe in her hometown of Studley within rural Warwickshire, serving up delicious brunch and lunch bites, locally baked cakes and craft coffee.
Their coffee comes from one of our favourite roasters Monsoon Estates Roastery in nearby Stratford-upon-Avon and the terrific loose leaf tea is curtesy of Bird & Blend Tea Co, alongside homemade lemonade too! There’s always a guest coffee roast on tap too, which when we visited happened to be another of our favourites, Method Coffee Roasters based in the nearby cathedral city of Worcester.
With a changing selection of delicious treats, all locally made by bakeries such as Beki’s Brownies and Butter Street Bakery, there’s sure to be something to please all cake fans. During our last visit they included a delicious lemon tart (pictured and tasted) – perhaps the best I’ve tasted, a Bakewell slice and carrot cake, displayed alongside a fab range of Biscoff, Crunchie or Aero brownies.
Brunch ranges from a buttermilk pancake special to granola with yogurt, toasted banana bread (with a choice of toppings) and loaded avo or salmon on sourdough toast with chilli jam.
Seasonal lunch options include a variety of pretzel filled rolls with flavours including a Mexican bean, smashed avocado & chipotle mayo or Serrano ham, cream cheese & pesto filling, falafel & hummus and pastrami Swiss cheese (yum!). Additionally there’s a range of ‘loaded’ salads with curried chickpea, falafel & mango and grilled halloumi to name a few.
Inside there’s plenty of seating for large cycling groups exploring Warwickshire, along with a limited number of seats out front too. Look out for dedicated bike racking coming to the cafe very soon.
We’re just a short cycle from the popular NT Coughton Court, a stones throw from Studley Castle and nearby to quiet rural roads heading east towards Wootton Wawen, Great Alne, Henley-in-Arden and beyond.
