Fantastic cappuccino roasted by New Ground Coffee in nearby Oxford! Their loose-leaf tea is from Jeeves and Jericho

taste

The chorizo hash with cacklebean poached egg and sourdough toast (pictured) is superb, as are their sourdough breakfast baps and rather different sweetcorn & courgette fritter. One the sweet front the cruffins are hard to beat, although their cakes never disappoint either - their Christmas slice (pictured) being a favourite of ours

With a refreshingly different breakfast, brunch & lunch menu alongside homemade cakes & pastries it’s the perfect pitstop for food fanatics

Nestled in the unspoilt Cotswold village of Blockley just four miles from Moreton-in-Marsh and three from the popular tourist town of Chipping Campden is a superb, hidden gem of a cafe! With refreshingly different seasonal breakfast, brunch & lunch options the menu makes for tough pickings.

Breakfast & brunch (served until midday) includes a locally sourced full veggie or English breakfast plate, chorizo hash with sourdough (pictured), sweetcorn & courgette fritters (pictured), smokin’ brothers salmon royale (sourced from nearby Moreton-in-Marsh), smoked haddock kedgeree beignet, sourdough or breakfast baps (Paddock Farm Tamworth dry cured bacon or sausage), granola, buttermilk pancakes (sweet or savoury) and a range of croissants, pastries & cruffins (pictured).

Lunch is equally as delicious; dry aged steak sub with garlic butter & celeriac remoulade, crispy falafel burger, Gloucestershire heritage tomato tagliatelle, soup of the day, baked Camembert and halloumi fries. Coffee comes from New Ground Coffee in Oxford and their loose-leaf tea is from Jeeves and Jericho (Witney).

For those with a sweet tooth you’re in for a treat too. If you’ve not had a cruffin before, it’s a cross between a croissant & muffin and we’d highly recommend trying one of theirs fresh out the oven – the strawberry or vanilla filled ones are delicious. Additionally you’ll find aromatic cinnamon rolls, pastel de nata, caramelised white chocolate flapjacks, banana bread, carrot cake and freshly filled doughnuts.

There’s plenty of space inside, however we’d advise if riding here at the weekend of making a booking beforehand. Outdoors you’ll find bike racking alongside plenty of room around their small outdoor seating terrace.

For those passing later in the day, Wednesday to Saturday they’re open until 9pm serving up their delicious bistro evening and seasonal supper menu from 6:30pm, highly recommended if you’ve time with a mouth watering set menu.
